Abstract :
Offshore winds tend to be higher, more constant and not disturbed by rough terrain, so there is a large potential for utilizing wind energy near to the sea. Compared with the wind energy converters onland, wind turbine components offshore will subject to the effect of special marine environment and weather condition. Hence, there are some special requirements for the offshore wind turbine and installation. The wind turbine structures located at seawater have been introduced in this paper. The offshore turbine installation and required equipments have been described accordingly. In addition, the maintainess of operating turbine components has been discussed.
