Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of OID (Optical Identify) device application on English learning in an elementary school in Taipei City. This study employ OID (Optical Identify) code to construct a situated learning environment and content based on English learning guideline of Taipei City, and the students can use OID device to learn English. OID device is cheap, so it can be used as a personal aided mobile learning tool for promoting English listening comprehension ability. This study conducts a learning experiment by using one group quasi-experiment design method. The subjects are 153 fifth and sixth grade students, and they are asked to accept remedial learning or do self-regulated learning. The results indicate that the students have a significant achievement on English listening comprehension test after statistical analysis of pretest and posttest pair-wised t test, nevertheless, the low social economic students do not attain significant improvement.
