This thesis first illustrates the type Synthesis of the Planar Five-bar Mechanism, on the basis of which a transformation is made according to the principle that revolute pair can be replaced by sliding pair, thus getting the type applying to all the structures of five-bar mechanism and then determining the basic principle to substitute the revolute pair with the sliding pair. It also points out the movement degeneration of some mechanisms and applying fields of different types of five-bar mechanism.
