Abstract :
Video transcoding techniques offer the possibility of matching coded video to transmission channels of lower capacity. In many applications, a logo is to be inserted into the transcoded bit-stream. In this paper, a new (DCT domain) transcoding architecture is proposed to insert logo into MPEG-2 bit-stream. This paper also addressed the problems of macro block (MB) type, motion vector (MV) and quantize-step redefinition induced by logo insertion. In software simulation, the proposed approach added a good quality logo in video stream with high efficiency and little impact on video data. Though this research is focused on MPEG-2 transcoding, the result can be extended to other video compress standards such as H.263 and MPEG-4.
