Abstract :
Interest, as a motivational component plays an important role in student learning. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of Google Earth on the interest and learning attitude in learning Geography Subject of high school students. Both quantitative and qualitative research method was utilised in this study. A pre-test as well as post-test design was conducted to examine the effects of Google Earth in students´ interest and learning attitude toward Geography Subject. Qualitative data was collected to identify the strengths and weaknesses of using Google Earth in order to enhance interest and improve learning attitude. The results showed that Google Earth can significantly engage students´ interest in learning Geography Subject thus improve learning attitude. Based on the quantitative and qualitative results, suggestions and guidelines on using Google Earth in the classroom settings are discussed.
