Abstract :
With the development of computer technology, concurrent collaborative engineering is a promising concept to increase the competitiveness of companies. In this paper applying theory and methods of concurrent engineering and efficient coordination mechanism of collaborative design, conversion shipbuilding model, i.e. changing traditional series-wound design process to concurrent design process. The aim of converting shipbuilding mode is to enhance efficiency of shipbuilding, shorten production period, reduce cost, improve the quality of research and development and further to improve competitiveness of enterprises ship. Through analysis of ship design features and demand, remote collaborative design system integration framework PDM-based is set up. Concurrent collaborative information system is achieved by PDM software. PDM technology applied to ship product design process is key to achieve ship product definition digital information, knowledge. In addition the further research work is put forward in this paper.
