Abstract :
The response of the simple line length diplexer can be significantly improved by the addition of two all-pass networks. Using pairs of short-circuited standard waveguides, flat equally-spaced passbands with narrow guard bands can be realised. A further modification involving pairs of tapered waveguides provides a method of varying the channel widths and spacings. An example is given of the former for use in a twelve-channel satellite ground station, while current theoretical and experimental work is directed towards Intelsat V requirements.
