Abstract :
Space division multiple access (SDMA) has been expected for improving frequency utilization efficiency in mobile communication systems. In such a system, communication quality is deteriorated when user terminals close to each other because the signals from each user terminal can not be separated by directional pattern in that situation. This paper describes the effects of path visibility on space division performances of SDMA in urban area. It is shown by the simulation that the SINR is depends on path visibility between a terminal and a base station (BS). And it is also clarified that SDMA system is effective when the path visibility is more than 8 percent with no relation to average building height or BS antenna height.
