  • Abstract
In the learning process, annotation activities give a great help to learners. Specially, in the elementary school teaching, increasing proportion of video usage improves the performance of teaching. Annotation is an important learning strategy and it can deepen the impression of video content and improve the students´ concentration. In the modern society, critical thinking is one of key competence, so enhancing the student´s critical thinking ability is an essential educational task. Global warming has become one of the important issues in the world, and it is an interesting topic to be studied for promoting the student´s critical thinking ability. This study adopts global warming as a learning topic and conducts a experiment for investigating the learning effect including global warming achievement, computer attitude, environmental attitude and critical thinking. The subjects are 148 sixth grade students from six classes of WuChang elementary school in Taipei City. They are divided into three groups including traditional video teaching group, individual annotating video teaching group and cooperative annotating video teaching group. The research results indicate that these two video teaching groups significantly perform better than traditional video teaching group in both global warming achievement and computer attitude.
