Abstract :
Praat is an excellent speech software which makes it possible to visualize the EFL pronunciation teaching. Such specific values as formant, fundamental frequency, intensity and duration have been extracted for a better analysis of sound waves in respect of segmental, accentuation and intonation. Therefore, pronunciation errors are clearly identified. The application of Praat revives classroom teaching and helps improve the reliability and validity of pronunciation evaluation. A new idea for self-study and self-testing is further developed.
