Abstract :
In this paper, we consider the distortion created by an unmatched transmission line system at the receiver of a high-speed data radio. The distortion can be modeled using a few interdependent parameters, which are to be estimated. A joint maximum likelihood (ML) estimator for the parameters is presented with the corresponding Cramer-Rao bound (CRB). A reduced complexity, approximate ML (AML) estimator is also developed. The results show that both ML and AML give reliable estimates, close to the CRB.
