Abstract
Based on the properties of fuzzy system employing two-overlapped fuzzy partition inputs, an approach for checking the stability of an open-loop discrete T-S fuzzy system is proposed. Through the construction of the piecewise Lyapunov functions in maximal overlapped-rule groups, this approach only requires finding a local common positive-definite matrix in each maximal overlapped-rule group to check the stability of T-S fuzzy system. It can decrease the number of inequalities greatly and reduce the difficulty and conservative of former approaches of stability analysis. The simulation results of one example show that the method proposed in this paper are effective.
