Abstract :
This work shows the methodology development process for generation 3d computer models of the patients with femoral diaphysis fracture, who was participated in a clinic study. The leg model was constructed from lateral and frontal radiographs of the fracture (after being stabilized) so it is unique to each patient. The volumes considered for the reconstruction were: the femoral diaphysis, the fracture, the fracture zone, muscle and the skin. For the reconstruction process was performed positioning and coupling orthogonal radiographs, subsequently performed independently for each component of the 3D model, the superficial construction process using different techniques of space projection and intersection with the assistance of parametric software, finally the solids for all the model components are obtained and they are coupled making the necessary Boolean operations in order to assemble them and avoid get any interferences between tem, achieving this way a model that represents adequately the volumetric structure of the leg and it´s components, based on the frontal and lateral images of the interest zone.
