Abstract :
A tunable microwave photonic filter with a tuning range of almost a full free spectral range (FSR) without changing the shape of frequency response is experimentally demonstrated. The tuning mechanism is based on simultaneously cross-phase modulation (XPM) and cross-gain modulation (XGM) in semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) assisted by detuning filter.
