Abstract :
Awareness of energy consumption in communication networks such as the Internet is currently gaining momentum as it is commonly acknowledged that increased network capacity (currently driven by video applications) requires significant more electrical power. This paper stresses the importance of approaching the problem is a coordinated manner looking at all part of the end-to-end system as a whole.
