Abstract :
We discuss the technologies necessary to implement dynamic adaptation in optical layer by example of the spectrum-sliced elastic optical path network (SLICE). We explain the shift of networking functionality from electrical to the optical domain discussing the challenges and the opportunities for networks employing channel capacities beyond 100 Gb/s.
