Abstract :
This paper reviews our systematic and unique approach to circuit and physical architecture design for VLSI and ULSI scale integrated systems. In case of deep-submicron CMOS technologies, the interconnectivity and the interconnections (i.e. metal wire) have a major impact on all system performance aspects. We emphasize this in a series of three courses covering circuit and electrical design aspects from chip to boards and cabinets. The key objectives of the courses and the technical contents are described.
