Abstract
This invited contribution reports recent results on all-optical signal regeneration using SOAs. Those include a scheme based on cross-gain-compression (XGC) in common SOAs for wavelength preserving 2R regeneration of RZ and NRZ signals, and regenerative amplification up to 80 Gb/s obtained thanks to detuned filtering of SPM in QD-SOA.
