Abstract :
Femtocell, also known as home eNB in 3GPP, is considered to be an effective means to satisfy the requirement of high data rate and indoor coverage. However, the heterogeneous network has brought about new challenge. How to deal with the inbound handover from macro cell to femtocell is still a thorny problem. In this paper, we propose a novel method of handover from macro BS to femtocell based on both downlink and uplink signal quality. In this method, uplink budget is performed by taking advantage of physical layer measurements and there is no change of existing handover procedure. Simulation result shows the outage probability of handover is proved to be decreased.
