Abstract
Solutions are presented to solve the problems in the comparison of firearm bullets.The modified model is established to modify the measurement error of measurement data.The characteristic line and Tophat filter are used to eliminate the random error and noise of the bullet trace image. Similarity of bullet defined according to cross-correlation function and similarity matrix,is used to compare two bullets.The effectiveness and feasibility of the algorithm are demonstrated with an example.
