Abstract :
General considerations for designing a converter that integrates ac-dc conversion and isolated dc-dc conversion in a single stage are examined in this paper. The operating principles of integrated power converters are discussed as well as their steady-state characteristics. Methods for reducing the primary side dc-bus voltage are presented along with a general design procedure. The concepts discussed in this paper are confirmed with experimental results obtained from an example integrated PWM full-bridge converter.
