Abstract :
In this paper, the relationship between the voltage regulation of a permanent magnet (PM) generator and the parameters of the electric machine is analyzed. According to the conditions for low voltage regulation with inductive load, the methods of reducing the voltage regulation of a PM generator by designing the proper parameters of electric machine are proposed. A low-voltage-regulation PM generator is designed. The parameters of the electric machine and the voltage regulation are achieved by using the finite element method (FEM), and the accuracy and validity of the design method are proved.
