Abstract :
This paper discusses the operational analysis and dimensional evaluation of a PV system installed at Tahifet in southern Algeria. Thanks to a bank of experimental data composed of helio-electric signals with a time step, which is 10 minutes for a period of a year, a detailed study of the performance of the PV system is carried out utilizing the notion of the conversion output of a PV generator and the notion of loss of load probability. This study discusses the daily performance of the PV system in Tahifet and permits the consideration of instantaneous variations of sunlight and of the load demand, which is not perceptible on the reduced scale, which is not the case for most methods for studying the performance of PV systems. The results obtained show that the studied PV system is oversized and presents a total availability because of low fuel consumption brought in to play.
