Abstract :
In this paper, a digital linearization platform which consists of digital predistortion (DPD) and Crest factor reduction (CFR) is presented, which is applied to improve the efficiency and linearity of GaAs power amplifier (PA) modules. For a 16W GaAs PA module driven by a two-carrier WCDMA input signal with 12.6dB peak average power ratio (PAPR), the output power is improved from 28.8dBm to 32.8dBm while the adjacent channel leakage ratio (ACLR) is kept as -45dBc@5MHz is achieved after using the digital linearization technology.
