Abstract :
Microgrid is one of new conceptual power systems for smooth installation of many distributed generations (DGs), loads and energy storage system (ESS). The microgrid can operate both in grid-connected and islanded operation mode. The balance between supply and demand of power is one of the most importance means of improving energy efficiency. This paper presents a discussion on the management and control techniques required for microgrid operation in grid-connected and islanded mode. The cooperative control strategy of micro-sources and ESS are also discussed in this paper. Then the strategies are compared based on this applicability with different control requirements.
