Abstract :
To solve the problem of user valuation in telecommunication networks, a networked approach has been proposed for discovering high-value users. A network is constructed from the phone call records data. Each node in the network presents a user, which attribute is communication costs, and each link stands for the call relationship, which attribute is the cumulative number of calls placed between the users. Enlightened by the knowledge of physical field, each node in a network is viewed as a material particle which creates a potential field around itself and the interaction of all nodes forms a topological potential field. All nodes are ranked by topological potential to discover important users in telecommunication network. The experiments indicate that the high-value users are high consumptive and active, and that the top five percent of high-value users, who construct the sub-net which average clustering coefficient is about 3 times greater than original network, having the properties of high cohesion and clustering.
