Abstract
In this paper, the generalized scalar pulse-width modulation technique used in inverters (indirect frequency conversion, AC-DC-AC) is adapted to the matrix converters. It is presented two different strategies to control the input currents: vector control and scalar control. The input current control defines which input voltages are employed to synthesize the output voltages of the matrix converter. Simulations results are used to compare the proposed strategy with the control strategy proposed by Huber and Borojevic.
