Abstract
How to effectively ensure the operational safety of the urban mass transit (UMT) system becomes one of the key issues in rail transit. By isolated the platform from the train to prevent accidental falls off the platform, the widely used platform screen door (PSD) system plays an important role in urban operational safety. This article firstly gave a brief introduction on PSD system including its functions and compositions, and obtained its safety requirement by hazard analysis. Based on these results, control strategy for safety was presented. Finally, the functional safety assessment on passenger anti-sandwiched circuit and signal safety circuit, which were two subsystems of a typical Chinese PSD system, was studied, and the effectiveness of the control strategy could be verified.
