Abstract
The energy transfer from Ce3+ to Yb3+ in Ce3+-Yb3+:YA G (Y3Al5O12) ceramics was observed. While the energy transfer efficiency estimated from the lifetime was about 48%, the observed quantum yield of Yb3+ emission was about 11% upon Ce3+ excitation in the sample.
