Abstract :
An effective algorithm, termed the k-segments algorithm, was proposed by J.J. Verbeek et al., (2002) for computing principal curves. To apply this algorithm, two parameters are required to be specified. In H. Wang and T.C.M. Lee, (2006) an automatic method was developed for choosing the values of these parameters. The present paper gives an overview of this automatic parameter selection method, as well as to provide new experimental results
