Abstract :
This paper presents a novel source/load multi-resonator coupling method with greater design flexibility for microstrip single mode coupled resonator filters. Source/load coupling with multiple resonators is useful for obtaining additional transmission zeros and high rejection at finite frequencies in the stopband. A narrow arm which is connected to the source or load and designed for obtaining the coupling with a nearby resonator is extended to the non-adjacent resonator of the source or load to obtain bypass coupling. Filters with transmission zeros both in upper and lower stopbands are synthesized and designed using microstrip half wavelength folded resonators.
