Abstract :
With the increasing of transportation problems, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), which is supposed to be a solution to these problems, has gained more and more attention. Based on the study on the traditional communication methods in ITS and existing issues, a novel concept Mobile Intelligent Transportation System (MITS) combined with ITS and mobile communication has been proposed in this paper. One application in Electronic Toll Collection has been established through our project, and the testing results indicate that bringing mobile communication into transportation field can enlarge coverage and duplex communication between Highway Regulating Point and drivers.
