Abstract :
The mathematic model for target positioning in the case of detecting through the wall body is derived firstly in the paper. Due to the refraction interference by the wall body, the derived equations are the transcendental equation, which can be solved by the numerical calculation method. Newton method is used to solve the nonlinear equations and the simulation result is obtained in single-transmitter and multi-receiver radar working mode. Furthermore, considering that in the real application of through-wall detection the wall parameters are unknown, a modified estimation method using multi-channel radar antennas is secondly proposed in this paper. The simulation results related to different cases regarding the numbers of unknown wall parameters are given to show that both the wall parameters and the target position can be accurately and simultaneously determined.
