Abstract :
Summary form only given. This paper proposes for the introduction of a recycling system in Gambia to enhance sustainable municipal solid waste management. Cooperation with and support of the informal recycling sector could lead to reduction in the amount of waste requiring disposal. Water samples collected from within and around the dump site showed a high level of fecal and total Coli form.
