Abstract :
The bonding technology has been widely used in the field of machinery, but still relatively infrequent in autobody. This manuscript discusses that the bonding technology is used for the bonding roof of a car. The finite element models of the bonding and welding roofs of a car are set up. The influences of the different bonding layer thicknesses to the roof static strength are discussed and the suitable bonding layer thickness is selected for the bonding roof. The collision performance of the bonding and welding roofs are conducted and compared. The results show that the bonding roof satisfies the static strength and collision performance of the car.
