Abstract :
We study the influence of meshing degree (nodal degree) on the performance of WDM networks with wavelength routing. It is shown that the increase of the nodal degree from 2 to 3 leads to high nodal degree gains, whereas the increase of the nodal degree from 4 to 5 leads to small nodal degree gains. These results make topologies with nodal degrees of 3 and 4 very attractive for WDM mesh networks.
