Abstract :
A modified model for calculating the inductances of induction machines, considering axial nonuniformity is proposed. By means of the proposed model, inductances of a three-phase squirrel-cage induction machine under eccentricity and misalignment conditions are calculated. Effects of stator and rotor slots, rotor skewing and several rotor asymmetries on inductances in these conditions are investigated. Simulation results show that in the case of misalignment condition, motor is started faster than in the healthy condition.
