Abstract :
A remote sensing technique, based upon the measurement of three complex reflection coefficients, is discussed and shown to facilitate the characterisation of a scattering surface as a function of the incident polarisation. An experimental microwave scatterometer is described and typical results obtained from terrain are presented.
