  • Abstract
A self-validating algorithm is proposed for hot thermistor constant differential temperature air flow sensor. Through this algorithm, the health of the sensor can be evaluated online, and a dynamic profile for assessment of measurement uncertainties is obtained. Such a profile is used to quantify the impact of faults occurred to the sensor. The impurity of the air and the harsh working environment cause deterioration of sensor performance and eventually lead to sensor malfunction. The paper examined several fault scenarios and demonstrated that the proposed scheme is able to detect and evaluate impacts of various types of fault
