Abstract
A new method is introduced to analyze arbitrary longitudinally inhomogeneous waveguides (LIWs). In this method, the equations of LIWs are converted to the equations of uniform waveguides, which have been excited by distributed equivalent sources. Then, the electric and magnetic fields are obtained using an iterative approach. The validity of the method is verified using a comprehensive example.
