  • Abstract
    A coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed S-shaped monopole antenna for 2.4/5 GHz dual-band operations is proposed. The proposed antenna can provide two separate impedance bandwidths of 209 MHz (about 8.5% centered at 2.45 GHz) and 1423 MHz (about 25.8% centered at 5.5 GHz), making it easily cover the required bandwidths for wireless local area network (WLAN) operations in the 2.4 GHz band (about 3.4% bandwidth required) and 5.2/5.8 GHz bands (about 12% bandwidth required). Details of the proposed antenna design and experimental results are presented and discussed.
