  • Abstract
    Dynamic change of speech encoding parameters is a way to manage the quality of VoIP communications in real-time in case of degradation due to congestion in the network. This paper investigates the effect of voice payload size and compression variation on VoIP quality under various network conditions. This must be known in order to choose the “correct” set of encoding parameters that match a given network state and to take a “correct action” to dynamically improve the quality of a VoIP communication session.
