Abstract :
UHF and microwave transistors inserted into the microwave transmission line are two-ports of very small gain and mismatched output. It causes the serious testing problems resulting from the own noise of the measurement system. A new method and set-up for the transistor noise figure measurement are presented. Using a matching passive two-port at the transistor output and utilizing the three-state automatic measurement method of amplifier noise figure the elimination of the measurement error caused by the meter receiver´s own noise has been obtained. The transistor test fixtures for measurements in 0,1-1 GHz and 1-2 GHz band are presented.
