Abstract :
The transmission in inhomogeneous fin lines is investigated theoretically and experimentally for varying slot width, taking into account finite metallization thickness and the effect of the longitudinal slit. The inhomogeneous unilateral fin lines are placed across the center of the waveguide in the E plane. For the optimization of fin line tapers various contour functions are investigated and the minimal length of the tapered sections is derived for which the input reflection coefficient is a minimum. The confirmation of the design theory through experimental results for optimized tapers is also shown.
