Abstract :
Image quality assessment is one of the key technologies in image processing field. The factors of the image quality assessment include gradation, definition and consistency. The image quality assessment method based on structural distortion often conclude distortion problem into three different factors: loss of correlation, mean distortion, and variance distortion and the image definition factor is not taken into account. In this paper, an image quality assessment method based on structural distortion and image definition is developed. The novel index of image quality assessment based on structural distortion and image definition is also proposed. The experimental results prove the image quality assessment method will be more consistent with human perception.
