Abstract
There are some problems existing in present containers management such as idle containers, slow velocity of turnover of containers, disordered containers management, and undeveloped information communication. Our containers management includes three main aspects: tracing management of the containers¿ scheduling, allocation, distribution and using during transportation; Tracking record of the containers leasing, off lease, reparation, insurance, report of loss and other containers-related business; harmonizing and allocating containers indifferent area. According to the business process of port, we add some new specific modules into the present port containers management system, which can reasonably arrange the turnover of empty containers in port interior, and don¿t need the contact between shipping companies. In the management of containers, we use some information technologies such as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Database Technology and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), which ensure the right circulation of containers, which not only can improve the efficiency and accuracy of containers¿ transmission information, but also economize data input time. As a result, we can turn real-time management into reality by the containers¿ information transmitted to a public platform.
