Abstract :
The University of California Berkeley SPICE program (version 2G.5) was compiled using the MicroSoft Fortran compiler on an IBM PC. Full functionality of the original program was achieved. In addition, local enhancements, such as gradient optimization and Monte Carlo analyses, were included, and code was added to generate both soft- and hard-copy graphics displays. All analyses are performed in double precision, so the results are as accurate as those obtained on most mainframe implementations. No special hardware is required to run the program. The techniques used to perform the code conversion and the results of analyses performed on example circuits are presented. Performance comparisons and program limitations are presented
