Abstract :
In this paper a Continuous Stirred Tank Heater (CSTH) is controlled by two PI type controllers which are tuned using Imperialist Competitive Algorithm (ICA) method. A lab scale CSTH is considered to demonstrate proposed method. To illustrate the effectiveness of the method, two PI controllers are tuned and optimized by Ziegler-Nichols (Z-N) and Genetic Algorithms (GA) methods, in order to evaluate the suggested PI controllers. The simulation results obviously display the validation of ICA-PI controllers in compare with the Z-N PI and GA-PI controllers to control a lab scale CSTH.
