Abstract :
Salient features of the Satellite Microwave Radiometer (SAMIR) onboard ´Bhaskara´, the first Indian satellite for earth observations are described. SAMIR is a three channel microwave radiometric system two operating at around 19 GHz and one at 22.235 GHz. A temperature sensitivity of better than 1 ° K has been achieved.
