Abstract :
Open source communities play an important role in open source software´s development. Performance shows the result of all activities in an open source community (OSC). Based on the analysis of the components of an OSC and its knowledge sharing approaches, a reference model for evaluating performance of an OSC is presented, which consists of a new index system and a method based on Delphi-Ideal for evaluating performance of the OSC. A formula measuring open source software´s knowledge exchange index with knowledge currency unit is also given. Finally, a concrete example is illustrated in this paper.
